GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS FROM THE CANTON ARAJUNO VISITED ECUADORIAN CONSULATE

- A Municipal Government Delegation of the Canton Arajuno in the Province of Pastaza made an official visit to the Consulate General of Ecuador in Connecticut.

Hugo Lopez, Coordinator of Management and Public Participation, with Gabriel Guerra, General Coordinator of Project Management and Local Development, had the opportunity to share and exchange, with the Minister Consul General of Ecuador in Connecticut, Raul Erazo Velarde, many aspects of interest for the Ecuadorian community living in this state and also people living in canton Arajuno, considered a natural charm and tourist scene of THE ancestral peoples of the Amazon, this region represents 45% of the total area of the Yasuni National Park. They also talked about the bionatural richness and projects in the area such as the installation of laboratories for herbal treatments and the creation of an academic institute, among others.
After the meeting with Minister Erazo and a group of accredited diplomats in that venue, the resident community of Canton Arajuno gave them a recognition and two books as a present, one about the spirit of Huaoranis and the other was a Watercolor of Galapagos. At the end, they gave them a sample of the artistic manual talent made by a Huaorani woman; it was a handicraft that reflects the traditions of our Ecuadorian cultures. PRESS RELEASE No. 1075 |
